Bryce Mitchell has issued a two-part ‘business proposal’ to UFC Bantamweight Champion Sean O’Malley that includes an appearance on his podcast as well as the pair starting a farm together.

“Thug Nasty” closed out last year with the first loss of his pro career when Ilia Topuria submitted him in a battle between undefeated featherweights at UFC 282. After nearly a year out of the cage, Mitchell returned at last weekend’s UFC Fight Night card and won a unanimous decision over Dan Ige in a co-main event matchup.

Mitchell has arguably attracted more attention for himself outside of the cage than in it thanks to his commitment to the idea that the Earth is flat, and after O’Malley recently shut that theory down “Thug Nasty” issued a response to the UFC’s bantamweight titleholder.

“I want to apologize to you Sean,” Mitchell said. “The only bad thing I’ve ever said about you really, is before your [Petr] Yan fight I picked Yan and I said that your YouTube following wouldn’t win you the fight. And boy, was I wrong. ‘Cause you lost that fight in my opinion, and the YouTube following helped persuade the judges for the decision. That being said, that was an absolutely respectable performance against Yan.”

O’Malley’s split decision win over Petr Yan at UFC 280 took home Fight of the Night honors but did face some scrutiny for how it was scored, and after somewhat clearing the air on that subject Mitchell detailed the business offer that he wanted to get to.

“Here’s my business proposal for ya. Have me on your podcast – I’ll tell ya how the Earth is flat, and I’ll tell ya all the proof of it. And you won’t be able to beat me in an actual argument, like a debate with facts. ‘Cause I’ve done a lot of research, and my attempt is to persuade you and get you closer to Jesus…I wouldn’t make a penny off your podcast, and you’d get huge views. You’d get the most views you’ve ever had on your podcast if you had me on, buddy…And I wanna make a formal business proposal. If you wanna be like me and have a farm – which, I just have a small farm, brother – If you wanna have a real farm, we can team up.”

If “Sugar” were to take Mitchell up on one or both of those offers it would likely attract plenty of attention from MMA fans, but for now it seems more likely that O’Malley might focus on figuring out who the first challenger for his newly-acquired bantamweight title may be.

His unique views and personality aside, Mitchell’s return to fighting last weekend was a welcome development for the UFC’s ultra-competitive featherweight division. The 28-year-old maintained his #10 ranking by defeating Ige, and there are plenty of intriguing matchups available for the next time that he decides to step into the Octagon.
