Frank Warren Says Fury-Ngannou Is His First Of Many Big Fights He’ll Host In Saudi Arabia

Frank Warren will plan on hosting a lot more big events in Saudi Arabia.

Warren is set to co-promote the massive fight between Tyson Fury and Ngannou on Oct. 28 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Warren co-promotes Fury with Top Rank and he expects this to be the first of many fights he will host in Saudi Arabia.

“The good news for the fans that can’t get to Saudi, is that they can watch them on prime time in the UK,” Warren told Pro Boxing Fans (h/t BoxingScene). “They’re not going to sit up until four or five o’clock in the morning. So that’s the great news. And the real great news is that the fights are being made. They’re happening. This I hope will be the first of many, many big events that are going on over there, which I know that it will be. So, this is fabulous. It’s fabulous for boxing. Things are happening. There’s a real buzz about things now.”

There is no question that more and more big fights are starting to happen in the Middle East, so Frank Warren planning on hosting more isn’t a surprise. Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk is also expected to take place here as the site fees bring in a lot of money for the promoters and boxers.

Tyson Fury enters his matchup with a 33-0-1 record and last fought back in December when he scored a TKO win over Derek Chisora in the 10th round. Prior to that, Fury beat Dillian Whyte by TKO, which followed the back-to-back knockout wins over Deontay Wilder. Fury is the current WBC heavyweight champion and is set to box Oleksandr Usyk for the undisputed heavyweight titles after this bout.
