The reigning WBC and Lineal heavyweight world champ, Tyson Fury, is slated to step into the ring with the holder of the WBO/WBA/IBF titles, Oleksandr Usyk. It’s the bout to determine the first uncontested champion of the division since the legendary Lennox Lewis in 1999.

This massive fight in world boxing is set to entertain boxing fans across the globe. Keep your eyes peeled; official details, inclusive of the fight date, will be revealed soon.

Promotion of the fight is in the hands of Queensberry, Top Rank, K2, and Usyk17.

Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs), the “Gypsy King,” who’s been holding his Lineal champion status since he sent Wladimir Klitschko packing in November 2015. Post a noted hiatus marked by personal tribulations, Fury scripted a comeback that’s straight out of the legends. A contentious draw against Deontay Wilder in December 2018 was followed by Fury snatching Wilder’s WBC world title, thanks to a seventh-round TKO in their 2020 rematch. Fast forward to the 2021 Fight of the Year; Fury, brushing off a couple of knockdowns, lays Wilder cold in the 11th round. Oh, and 2022 saw him keep busy, securing stoppage victories over Dillian Whyte and Derek Chisora. Now, he’s tightening his gloves to take on MMA hotshot Francis Ngannou on October 28 in Riyadh.

Now, shifting the spotlight to Ukraine’s own Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs). This 2012 Olympic gold medalist climbed the heavyweight ladder after a sterling stint as the undisputed cruiserweight champion. The tables turned in September 2021 when he snagged a surprise win over Anthony Joshua, becoming the unified heavyweight world champ. The subsequent rematch, nearly a year later, saw him winning again against Joshua by split decision. Usyk, after halting Daniel Dubois in nine rounds in August, is now eying to join the ranks of Evander Holyfield, aspiring to become the second undisputed cruiserweight champion to bag the heavyweight glory.

The anticipation is sky-high for this fight It’s not just a fight; it’s a rendezvous of great skills. It’s going to be a make-or-break duel where the world will witness whether Usyk’s technique and agility can subdue the raw power and unmatched resilience of Fury.

“Finally, the fight we’ve all been waiting for,” shared an excited Frank Warren of Queensberry Promotions. “In boxing, nothing quite grabs attention like a heavyweight showdown. This particular bout might just define our era. My bet? Tyson getting back those three titles. A big shoutout to His Excellency and the GEA for making this happen.”

“When you talk about Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk, you’re talking about the very best of heavyweight boxing today. Just picturing them squaring off in Riyadh gives me chills,” admitted Bob Arum of Top Rank. “Many thanks to His Excellency Turki Alalshikh and everyone behind the scenes. This is the stuff legends are made of.”

Alex Krassyk of K2 couldn’t hide his enthusiasm, “Is this really happening? Being a part of such a monumental fight feels surreal. A massive thanks to KSA and His Excellency Turki Al-Sheikh. And let’s not forget Tyson – that man’s bravery is something else. Counting our blessings every day.”

Spencer Brown, who manages Tyson Fury, chimed in with, “The idea that Tyson could become the first Undisputed World Heavyweight Champion with four belts? Mind-blowing. But before any of that, he’s got a point to prove on October 28th. Here’s to His Excellency, the GEA, and what’s shaping up to be a thrilling Riyadh Season.”

His Excellency Turki Alalshikh, leading The General Entertainment Authority and orchestrating the Riyadh Season, expressed, “Everyone’s been waiting for this showdown. Now, it’s on – the globe’s top two heavyweight champs squaring off. Boxing doesn’t get bigger than this. The whole world will tune in, and we’re incredibly proud to have Riyadh as the backdrop for this monumental event, especially during our fourth Riyadh Season festivity. We aim to rise to the occasion and promise an unmatched experience for all who visit Riyadh for this bout.”
