Top-shelf mixed martial arts (MMA) Welterweight standouts, Leon Edwards and Colby Covington, will settle their ugly score once and for all TONIGHT (Sat., Dec. 16, 2023) in UFC 296’s pay-per-view (PPV) main event from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Edwards looks to move beyond his pair of back-to-back wins over former 170-pound legend, Kamaru Usman, and tighten his grip on the weight class at the expense of “Chaos” (albeit somewhat reluctantly). Edwards, 32, appears to be in his prime — his improvement between the two Usman title fights was impressive, going from a “Hail Mary KO” to near shutout win over an all-time great (with a point deduction, too). Covington, meanwhile, has been sitting on the sidelines for almost two years after dealing with the Jorge Masvidal fiasco (details here). The unabashed Donald Trump supporter is skating on thin ice these days, making this showdown with “Rocky” perhaps Covington’s final opportunity to claim undisputed UFC gold.

Enough talk — it’s time to fight!

Live updates will begin to flow below the moment the two fighters make their way to the Octagon …

“Chaos” the former interim champion roost-ruler, was the first to make the walk … and he walked right up to his idol for a little pre-fight leg rub:

Then, it was time for “Rocky” to enter the cage to a rather inhospitable “Sin City” crowd:
