Henry Cejudo did not hesitate to put judge Mike Bell on blast after he awarded Alexa Grasso a 10-8 fifth round in her rematch with Valentina Shevchenko.
Last weekend’s Noche UFC card celebrating Mexican Independence Day was headlined by a bout that featured Grasso defending her women’s flyweight title against the division’s longtime champion in Shevchenko. The rematch ended up being even more entertaining than their first meeting at UFC 285, but unfortunately the fight’s action has been largely overshadowed by the scoring the rendered it a disappointing split draw.
Mike Bell has already taken quite a bit of heat in the aftermath of Noche UFC, and now Cejudo has become the latest person to question the veteran judge’s scoring for the card’s headlining bout.
“Does Alexa Grasso deserve to have a 10-8 round like it? To me, it really doesn’t make any sense,” Cejudo said on his YouTube channel. “Did Alexa win the fifth round? 100 percent. Was it a 10-8 round? Absolutely not. Mike Bell, you absolutely make me sick. You absolutely make me sick. You should retire from judging, because you don’t know absolutely anything.”
Henry Cejudo Shares His Scoring For Noche UFC Main Event
Fans have made arguments in favor of both Grasso and Shevchenko for winning the Noche UFC main event, but Cejudo is confident that “Bullet” did enough to reclaim her title.

“I have Alexa winning round two and five, and that’s it. And for what Valentina was able to do and the way she was kind of able to pap up her face, watching the fight as a whole, Valentina was the victor.”
Shevchenko claimed after Noche UFC that the judges may have been biased towards Grasso given that the event took place on Mexican Independence Day, and the former champion has suggested that a potential trilogy bout should take place in her native Kyrgyzstan to make things fair.
A third fight between the two women may end up being necessary simply to move past the controversy around their rematch, but the women’s flyweight division also has top contenders like Erin Blanchfield and Manon Fiorot that are eager for their first chance at a UFC title.
