UFC superstar Conor McGregor won’t face criminal charges after an alleged sexual assault at this year’s NBA Finals in Miami.

Florida prosecutors declined to file charges of sexual assault against McGregor after he was accused of raping a woman while attending an NBA Finals game on June 9th. He allegedly dragged a woman into a restroom at the Kaseya Center in Miami before attempting to force sexual intercourse with the accuser.

Prosecutors cited “insufficient evidence” and “contradicting witnesses” as two major reasons for not filing charges. It’s uncertain if the victim intends to file a civil lawsuit against McGregor after Tuesday’s developments.

A major factor in the prosecution’s decision was the accuser’s friend claiming that no mention of McGregor raping her was made immediately following the alleged incident.

Barbara Llanes, McGregor’s attorney, reacted to the resolution in a statement to TMZ Sports.

“After a thorough investigation, including a review of videos and interviews with eyewitnesses, the authorities have concluded that there is no case to pursue against my client, Conor McGregor,” Llanes said. “On behalf of my client, his family and his fans we are pleased this is now over.”

McGregor will now put his full attention to returning to the UFC Octagon in 2024. He is expected to face Michael Chandler for his UFC comeback after they squared off as coaches in the latest season of The Ultimate Fighter.

McGregor hasn’t fought since suffering a leg injury against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. He’s looking to snap a recent losing skid after defeats in three of his previous four fights.

Earlier this year, another woman dropped a lawsuit against McGregor after she accused him of assaulting her on a Yacht while celebrating his 34th birthday.

As of this writing, McGregor has yet to publicly address the resolution to these latest accusations.
