Terence Crawford Explains Why Separates Himself From Errol Spence Jr.

Terence Crawford thinks there are a few things that he does better than Errol Spence Jr. which will be the difference.

Crawford and Spence Jr. are set to finally meet on Saturday, July 29 in a fight that is years in the making. Both are undefeated welterweight champs and the fight will unify the welterweight division.

Heading into the fight, Terence Crawford is the betting favorite and he thinks the reason why he will have success is his ring generalship and counter ability.

“I think everything is a key point in the fight. You got my jab, you got my movement, you got my counterpunching ability. My brain and the way I think, all around,” Crawford told BoxingScene.com and other reporters. “What separates me from him is my mentality, the way I think, my ring generalship, my counter ability. Our styles match up really well. You have one fighter that loves to come forward and be an action-packed fighter. You have one fighter who loves to move, counter, and stand in there toe to toe. So it makes for a great fight. I’m training for everything so I don’t get caught with anything that’s unexpected so we don’t have any surprises.”

If Terence Crawford does beat Errol Spence Jr. on Saturday, he knows it is massive for his career and cements his legacy as one of the all-time greats.

“This puts the cherry on top of my career. I’ve been waiting for this moment for a long time and I can’t wait to get it on,” said Crawford. “The welterweight division has had a lot of great fights in the past and this will be another one. There’s a bright future for the division as well with a lot of great talent coming up. It’s still a hotbed for the sport.”
