The much anticipated weight is over. After Bellator caught some major wind in the media after a rumored buyout, the Scott Coker led promotion jumps across the ocean to battle Japan’s Rizin promotion.

The main event is slated for a Bellator Lightweight World Grand Prix Quarterfinal matchup between Bellator’s Patricky Pitbull and Rizin’s Roberto de Souza. Pitbull, who is a former Bellator Lightweight Champion, last fought Usman Nurmagomedov at Bellator 288 in a bout where he would lose his 155-lb. strap. De Souza is Rizin’s current lightweight champion after knocking off Tofiq Musayev at Rizin 28.

In the co-main event, Kyoji Horiguchi will do battle with Makoto Takahashi for the inaugural Bellator Flyweight Championship. Horiguchi, who is on a two fight win streak, has not fought in the flyweight division since 2016 in his tenure with the UFC. Takahashi claimed the vacant Cage Fury flyweight title at CFFC 114.

Bellator X Rizin is scheduled to take place on Sunday, July 30th, at the Saitama Super Arena in Tokyo, Japan. The event will air live on Showtime.
